To wait or not to wait

For you to come around

Obvious it won’t happen

Selfishness has no sound

No warning when it occurs

Honestly I prefer

To hide and disregard

Seems to be the thing to do

When needed most

You ask, “Who are you?”

Keep going, I say

Why pretend or amend?

If you weren’t a friend before

You’re not a friend at all
